What is the length of rotations?
Each rotation is 4 weeks in duration.
How many rotations can I do?
You can do as many rotations you want
What is the cost of the rotations?
The fee for the rotation is $450/week or $1,800 for a 4 week rotation
What about malpractice insurance?
We can get you malpractice coverage for $800 that covers you for 3 months, or up
to 3 rotations. Coverage is also available for 12 months of coverage for $1,000.
This fee is also subject to change as dictated by the insurance company.
When are payments due?
Your fees to include malpractice fees are due in full no less than 3 weeks prior
to starting the rotation. For example, if you want to do 2 rotations:
Radiology $450/week X 4 weeks = $1,800
Cardiology $450/week X 4 weeks = $1,800
Malpractice fee = $800
Total payment due = $4,400
Can I get a letter of recommendation from my Attending?
Yes. If your Attending believes you performed well during the rotation, you can
get a letter of recommendation
Am I guaranteed to get my choice of rotations?
Availability of rotations is based on a first come first served basis. Once you
sign up for a rotation your spot is not guaranteed until we receive your payment.
Therefore the sooner you send your payment the faster your will be guaranteed your
rotations.
What about housing?
In Washington DC male and female dorms are available as well as off campus
housing; i.e. apartments or condos.
In Chicago apartments and condos are available.
In Atlanta/Rome Georgia apartments and condos are available. We have a housing officer
that will assist you with your housing needs.
Housing for all locations run about $700- $1,000 per month; furnished
What about transportation?
You will need a vehicle if you plan to do rotations in Chicago or Atlanta/Rome. Your housing advisor will contact you about the cost of vehicle rentals for the time you are in Chicago or Atlanta/Rome.
If you stay on campus for DC rotations, one of the hospitals is within walking distance from the dorms.
Can someone get me from the airport?
Yes. If you are coming from overseas, we will have a staff member pick you up from the airport and get you to your housing location.
Is there orientation to the program?
Yes. Our coordinators will give you a full orientation to the program, the hospital, your schedule and what you are expected to do during the rotation.
What do I wear during the rotations?
Ladies need to wear business attire; pants are fine.
Gentlemen need to wear a shirt and tie.
You should have a clean, ironed, white lab coat. The length of the coat should be to your waist or belt line.
